In Syria, thousands of children are growing up in a world characterised by conflict and insecurity. Their school buildings are destroyed, their classrooms often no more than simple tents - but their hope for a better future lives on.
Teachers struggle every day to offer them a perspective, but resources are scarce.
Sad facts:
- Many schools in Syria have been destroyed or are not functional. (As of 03/2025: 1,762 schools)
- Teachers often teach without sufficient materials or infrastructure.

Donation receipt - Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes, your donation is tax-deductible. Ihssan is recognised as a non-profit and charitable organisation and can therefore issue donation receipts. Up to an amount of €300, the tax office only requires a simplified donation receipt in conjunction with your bank statement as proof of the donation.
We offer you our simplified proof of funding as PDF document to. If you would still like to receive a donation receipt, this is of course no problem. We will be happy to issue you with a confirmation. Simply send us an e-mail to info@ahsin.de

Our educational aid
Your donation primarily supports the emergency aid school programme and the orphan school run by the aid organisation EDC, enabling children and young people who have been unable to attend school for a long time to quickly re-enter the education system. The programme not only offers an efficient learning programme, but also provides the pupils with psychological support to ease their transition back into a regular school or a professional future.
In the short term, your donation will help to maintain the 4 schools of the aid organisation EDC including teacher salaries, room costs and teaching materials. Find out more about our schools
In the medium term, it contributes to the general Learning conditions for pupils in Syria, as there are plans to support more schools, especially in the area of Equipment and teaching materials.
In the long term, we aim to develop a comprehensive project concept in cooperation with other organisations and official bodies that makes schools in Syria more child- and environmentally friendly and aims at an energy-efficient and sustainable refurbishment of schools. Your donation will also benefit this aspect.
